If you suspect your child of having Talented characteristics in MUSIC, THEATRE AND/OR VISUAL ART contact your child’s school for a referral to the School Building Level Committee. Talented referrals and evaluations are only conducted once a year in the Spring.

The town of Port Barre has reported that the low water pressure issue has not yet been resolved. As a result, we have decided to continue to provide online instruction to Port Barre Elementary, Middle, and High School students tomorrow, November 10, 2021.
Teachers and staff will report to school for the delivery of instruction .
Students attending SLATS, CAPS, BIOMED, and WCTC will attend class as normal.
Beginning Monday, November 1st, face coverings for staff, students, and visitors will be optional in SLP public schools except when traveling on school buses. Updated guidance on quarantining during opt-out can be found by going to http://www.slpsb.org/apps/pages/NEWSROOM.

This application is open to all current students enrolled in St. Landry Parish public schools in 8th through 12th grade. Jump Start Afterhours CompTIA + will be offered online only (with the option of testing in-person if needed), and requires an internet connection and a Chromebook. The program will begin around November 8, 2021, and end on May 26, 2022. Program contingent on the number of applicants. The application will close on October 29, 2021.
This course is designed to help you learn more about the digital world. If you are interested in Computer Science and/or Technology this is the course for you. This course is limited to 35 participants.
