The start of school is right around the corner! Students in Cohort A will begin August 11th, students in Cohort B will report on August 12th, and all students will return on August 15th. Schools will inform you of your child's cohort.
We are anxiously awaiting your return!

For the 2nd year in a row, basic school supplies will be provided for our students in grades K-12 by St. Landry Parish School Board. Please note: Any additional supplies needed can be found on school websites and/or will be communicated by your child's school.

CITF Carpentry Application-
Open to all current students enrolled in St. Landry Parish public schools in 9th through 12th grade who have completed CITF Core or NCCER Core. This course is designed to prepare students for careers involving Carpentry. Students can earn up to $2,000.00!

Jump Start Summers CITF Welding Application
This application is open to all current students enrolled in St. Landry Parish public schools in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. This course is designed to prepare students for careers involving Welding skills. Students can earn up to $1,000.00!
Jump Start Summers will be entirely in person this summer and requires the student to have transportation to and from the site (Eunice Career & Techncial Education Center). The program will begin on June 6, 2022, and end on August 6 , 2022. Program contingent on the number of applicants. The application will close on May 6th.

Port Barre High School: Parents, we are continuing state LEAP testing tomorrow, Friday, April 29, 2022. Testing will last through the end of next week for some grade levels and subject areas. Tomorrow, we will begin testing grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 in Math as well as make up testing for high school students who missed the English 1, English 2, and/or Geometry tests taken earlier this week. Students need to be here on campus by 7:25 AM. Please stress the importance of doing their best on these tests. As always, we would like to thank you for supporting PBHS.

Port Barre High School: This message is to notify you that our Junior Ring Ceremony will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 6:00 PM in the school's gymnasium. Juniors will be able to invite four individuals to sit in the stands as well as have one sponsor who will sit with the student to present their ring or other item of choice. Tickets will be given to the students at a later date. It is not mandatory they attend this event, but it would be nice if all Juniors were in attendance.
