The Steve Carter Education Program provides $1,500 vouchers to families of eligible K-12 public school students per school year. These digital vouchers are used to purchase high-quality literacy and math tutoring.
Program Details:
👉Available to K-12 public school students who are below reading and mathematics proficiency.
👉In-person or virtual options are available.
👉Tutoring sessions must be held after school hours.
🛑 You must have your child’s school-issued Louisiana Student ID (LASID) number to complete the application. This is a 10-digit number assigned by schools to track student information.🛑
Families can apply through the portal below to receive the voucher and select a provider:

GPE GUARDIANS: Correction on the Christmas program flyer that was sent home. Our annual Christmas program will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 9:00 in the school gym. We look forward to seeing you there!
GPE GUARDIANS: Tomorrow, December 10th, begining at 10:00 in the school library, students will take pictures with Santa. Please send in your picture money along with the cards that were sent home with your child. Students will have a free dress day to wear their Sunday best or christmas causal for their pictures. Fall Festival news: If you are decorating a trunk tomorrow, please have it set up by 11:00 at the gym parking lot. Special thanks to everyone making this a fun event for our students.
April Guidry is focused on making Grand Prairie Elementary a fun and nurturing place where little ones feel safe and excited to learn. She works hard behind the scenes every day to support her teachers so they can give our youngest students a great start.
